Backup/Restore software products are designed to back up data to tape, disk, or optical devices and restore that data as needed. This segment also includes products specifically designed to support the recovery process, such as virtual tape libraries. Also included are media management, deduplication, and backup reporting products, as well as archiving products included with the backup application. Media management activities include media allocation, labeling, tracking, recycling, monitoring and management of storage pools.
